Awarded to STP
OFSC Norm Hein STOP Ward was awarded to Ron Leclair.

OFSC STOP Area of the Year Award. In 1992 the STOP program was a pilot project in Sudbury after which it became a very successful program for the OFSC. Each year this award is given to an area in the province that shows exemplary performance by their STOP office in Patrolling the trails and enforcing the Motorized Snow Vehicle Act.

STP Volunteer Proficiency Award
Doug Reynolds, President of the Onaping Falls High Riders (OFHR). Doug has been Club president since 1999 and has been a key member in the dedicated group of volunteers that have breathed new life into this small club that services the Onaping/Dowling   /Levack/Cartier areas north of Sudbury. Besides being president, Doug is active in trail maintenance and as a Trail Patroller.  

STP Executive Award of Merit
Jim Reid, from Broder Dill Snowmobilers Association (BDSA), has had a long and varied career in local snowmobiling including being a member of the STP Board of Directors in 1987-88, and 1994. For the 1998-99 season Jim served as the STP VP of Administration. A lifetime member of BDSA he has worked on trails, was treasurer, membership coordinator, and social director. Jim was also president of BDSA in 1988 and 1994. Still active as a Trail Patroller, Jim was part of the initial Sudbury STOP officer contingent and was active in STOP for over 10 years.

STP Executive Award of Merit
Receiving the ‘2005 STP Executive Award of Merit’ was Tom Garber of the Walden Sno Runners (WSR). Tom has had a long and varied career in local snowmobiling including being a member of the STP Executive for 7 years as the VP of Operations. He was a founding member of WSR and is currently a club Director. Tom’s other tasks have included work as the Club Signage Coordinator, trails, Groomer Operator, Groomer Coordinator and as a Trail Patroller.

 

STP Volunteer Proficiency Award

Receiving the ‘2005 STP Volunteer Proficiency Award’ was Jack May – President of the Capreol Ridge Runners (CRR). Jack has been Club President for 6 years and a member of CRR since 1990. Besides his duties as President of CRR, Jack’s roles have included Driver Trainer, Trail Patrol, the Easter Seals Snowarama, Alpine Groomer Operator, helped with the Adanac Winter Experience, and the club Permit Sales Coordinator.

STP Executive Award of Merit
Lloyd Myllynen has been involved with this club the Broder Dill Snowmobilers Association in various positions from Trails, Permits to President. He has been instrumental in relocating many trails and ensuring that the Broder Dill club is kept well informed of the goings on about snowmobiling in the province. Lloyd has also sat at the OFSC Board table for over 8 years at the Governor of District 12.

Brian Gillespie has been involved with the Walden Sno Runners since the club was formed as Treasurer, Permits, vice President and trail work.
